2013 Sugar Land Bible Church Ladies Fellowship - God Is Able
If you are new to Ursula's legacy, I would love for you to start where I did. At the 2013 Ladies Fellowship - God Is Able. It was my first time ever hearing Ursula's voice. My first time seeing her as well. And it would become the one and only time I ever sat under her teaching in person. It was a day that altered the course of my spiritual life. I invite you to partake with me of this wonderful teaching time, albeit at a different time and a different place. I am so grateful to whoever providentially made sure this day was captured in this way. What a gift that I can relisten and be blessed again and again by the wise words of my dear friend.
If you didn't have the sound of Ursula's voice playing in your mind as you are going through her studies you would be missing out just a little bit. I urge you to take the time to listen to the the audio of God is Able.
9 Truths Concerning Salvation (by Ursula Kemp)
Are you sure about where you will spend eternity? Below you find content from a one-page pamphlet by Ursula. If you are uncertain about your salvation, start your study here. This is also a wonderful tool for sharing the gospel with others.
- Truth 1
All Need Salvation
Everyone needs to be saved, for all have sinned, and the penalty of sin is (Rom. 3:23; 5:12; 6:23).
- Truth 2
We Cannot Save Ourselves
We cannot save ourselves; we are dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1). A dead person can do no works which will give him life (Eccl. 7:20; Isa. 64:6; Titus 3:5).
- Truth 3
Salvation Planned by God
God made a plan in eternity past to save us from the penalty of sin through the death of a sinless substitute. (Eph. 3:11; Heb. 10:9; Rom. 3:24; 1 Pet. 1:18-20).
- Truth 4
Christ Fulfilled the Plan
When the fulness of time was come, God sent forth His Son (Gal. 4:4), the Lamb of God (John 1:29), who completed the plan of grace by dying on the cross for sinful man. (Heb. 2:9; 1 John 3:5,8).
- Truth 5
Salvation Is by Grace through Faith
God's Word shows us how to be saved- by grace through faith. The faith must be a belief in who Jesus Christ is – the eternal Son of God – and what He has done: took a human body in order to die for our sins and become our Savior. (Eph. 2:8,9; John 3:16-18).
- Truth 6
Eternal Security in Christ
The believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is put into Christ (Rom. 8:1), and cannot lose his salvation. Our eternal security stands on (1) the power of God (1 Pet. 1:5); (2) the promises of God (John 10:28), (3) the Word of God (Num. 23:19); and (4) the work of God (Phil. 1:6).
- Truth 7
Three-Fold Salvation
The believer is saved in the past from the penalty of sin (Rom. 6:23), in the present from the power of sin (Heb. 2:18; 2 Pet. 2:9), and in the future from the presence of sin for all eternity (Phil. 3:20,21; Jude 24).
- Truth 8
Victory over Sin
Victory over sin, the sin nature and Satan was won at the cross; but if we are to have victory over sin's power in our daily life, we must (1) know and believe God's Word; (2) confess our sins in order to have the power and control of the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 5:18; Heb. 4:12; Jas. 1:25; 1 John 1:9).
- Truth 9
Proclaim the Message
The command to every believer is to 'go and tell' the message of salvation to the whole world (Matt. 28:7,10,19; Acts 1:8). It is for this purpose we are left on the earth.
